Frank Narcisse Jerome, Mi'kmak from Gesgapegiag is a member of a very exclusive club.

Jerome is one of 38 Canadians to receive the Military Medal with two bars. He is also one of only two First Nations soldiers in this category.

The Military Medal was awarded for acts of bravery on the ground. Each additional prize was noted by adding a silver bar worn on the medal ribbon. Therefore, a military medal with two bars equals three military medals.
