Frank Sanache is one of 27 Meskwaki enlist in the Army in 1941. He became one of eight Meskwaki Code Talkers. They used their language against the Germans in North Africa. He was ahead of his battalion to direct artillery fire.

 

The Meskwaki served in the 168th Infantry, 34th Division in North Africa.

 

Frank Sanache was captured by the Germans in Tunisia. He ended the war in a prison camp in Poland.
